28.  Choice A is the correct answer.  With hemolytic anemia, the reticulocyte count is high.  There is a shortened RBC survival less than 100 days.  There are intrinsic and extrinsic causes of hemolytic anemia.  RBC abnormalities include spherocytes, helmet cells, acanthocytes, blister or bite cells, red cell ghosts and prominent basophilic stippling.
